Atlanta United’s ticket sales among world’s best

Atlanta United’s record-setting attendance for Saturday’s game against Orlando City at Mercedes-Benz Stadium was unofficially the fourth-highest among leagues in North America, Central America, South America and Europe this weekend.

The team set an MLS single-game record for ticket sales with 70,425 sold for the game against the Lions.

The top-five games by ticket sales for games Sept. 15-17:

Borussia Dortmund vs. Cologne at Signal Iduna Park, 81,000

Manchester United vs. Everton at Old Trafford, 75,042

Bayern Munich vs. Mainz 05 at Allianz Arena, 75,000

Atlanta United vs. Orlando City at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 70,425

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Swansea at Wembley Stadium, 65,366
