Atlanta United midfielder Ezequiel Barco is ready for minutes against LAFC on Friday, manager Frank de Boer said.

Barco hasn’t played in a league game for Atlanta United since May 5. He has been out with a knee injury. He was selected for the 18 in Sunday’s win against D.C. United, but wasn’t put into the game. De Boer said he thought Barco could have only gone for 15 minutes in that game. After three days of training, de Boer said Barco is ready for more.

“He’s really close to starting again and hopefully he can get some minutes against LAFC,” de Boer said.

Brandon Vazquez left Wednesday’s training session with an adductor issue.. De Boer said Vazquez left training as a precaution and that he will travel to LAFC. Vazquez, 20, has started the past two games at striker and his performances were complimented by de Boer.

Midfielder Hector Villalba may be able to return to training and take contact with the first team next week. De Boer said Villalba had a minor setback in the past weeks. Villalba has one goal this season.

Fullback George Bello still needs to play with Atlanta United 2 to regain sharpness, according to de Boer. He trained with Atlanta United on Monday.
