The Hawks announced Wednesday that veteran guard Wesley Matthews could miss at least the first two weeks of the season.

The Hawks announced that veteran guard underwent an MRI on Tuesday at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex.

The MRI revealed a mild right calf strain. He will be reevaluated in two weeks, and his status will be updated as appropriate.

The Hawks open the season Wednesday night at the Hornets.
