FLOWERY BRANCH — Rookie running back Bijan Robinson continued to sparkle during the Falcons’ third day of training camp practice Friday.

“It was a competitive practice, which you want again,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said. “Third day in a row that it’s been super competitive. A lot of stuff going on. A lot of good things. Some that are clearly visible and others, as you go back to the tape that are very encouraging.”

Here are the five things we learn:

1. Robinson’s route running. During one-on-one drills Robinson put a double move on linebacker Troy Andersen and broke wide open. The pass was nearly overthrown, but Robinson hauled it in with one hand.

2. Punt returners: Robinson also was back with the group of five punt returners.

Wide receiver Keilahn Harris, wide receiver Zay Malone, cornerback Mike Hughes and cornerback Dee Alford also were back catching punts.

With Avery Williams out of the season, the Falcons are in search of a new punt returner.

3. Hennessey leaves: Left guard Matt Hennessy left practice early with a trainer. He’s in a battle for the starting left guard spot.

4. Passing attack: Several receivers were breaking open, but either were being overthrown or underthrown.

It’s early in camp, and clearly the Falcons are working on timing in the passing attack.

5. Good crowd: For the second day in row, the Falcons had over 1,000 fans on the hill. The crowd for Friday’s practice was estimated at 1,500.
