Much like the first quarter, the Falcons took the opening drive right down the field to break a tie game with the Packers.

Running back Devonta Freeman scored his second touchdown on Sunday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on a two-yard touchdown run. That capped off a 10-play, 87-yard drive that took 4:12 and put the Falcons ahead 14-7.

Later in the quarter, a big pass play from quarterback Matt Ryan to wide reciever Julio Jones for 28 yards set up Matt Bryant 51-yard field goal to put the Falcons up 17-7 with 3:21 left in the first half.

Then, with the time wanning in the half, the Packers attempted to pass out of their own end zone. That plan proved to be a big mistake as quarterback Aaron Rodgers was picked off by Desmond Trufant.

His first interception of the year set the Falcons up at the Packers 36-yard line with 47 seconds left. From there Ryan led the team down the field in just 28 seconds finishing with a three-yard touchdown pass to Tevin Coleman.

Ryan was 13-of-20 for 201 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

End of second quarter: Falcons 24, Packers 7.
