Meet the AJC's digital audience team

In one corner of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Dunwoody newsroom sits digital audience, a 16-person department at the heart of the social, content, revenue and platform strategies for the AJC's digital products. We do a lot of different things. We have more than one whiteboard.

The social team takes point on all branded accounts, including our popular SEC News Now page and neighborhood accounts -- writing social copy, strategizing on folding in social communities into every part of newsroom thinking and more. Our content, hyperlocal and events teams play a significant role in the daily output of the AJC.com and sister site AJCaccessATL, from writing and editing stories to native advertising campaigns and beyond.

Our platform and revenue teams are at the forefront of ongoing digital publishing decisions: the nitty-gritty technologies of idealizing user experience and news presentation -- and how to make a business out of that audience! We sit right next to a very proud-looking wooden table, which is either surrounded by people in a meeting or covered with free food. (Last week, it was Girl Scout cookies.)

Behind us is the newsroom lounge (pictured), a collaborative work space complete with lava lamps, IKEA-approved seating and a T-shirt covered in emoji (not pictured).
