A crowd of commuters in western Australia used their combined strength Wednesday to tilt a train to save a man trapped between a platform and one of the train's cars.

The man's leg became stuck when he was trying to board a Transperth train in Stirling, The West Australian reported.

After the train was evacuated, officials told passengers to line up next to the car and push.

“We were able to move the train quite a bit,” one passenger, identified only as "Nic," told the newspaper.

The man reportedly was seen walking after the incident and did not require hospitalization.

“We hear a lot about poor behavior on public transport," said Transperth spokesman David Hynes. "It’s really great when something like this happens and people work together to help a fellow commuter.”
