Twin brothers marry twin sisters with twin priests

Nov 12, 2015

Twins Dinker and Dilraj Varikkassery were excited they were both getting married to women who would become their lifelong partners.
What's unique about their unions is that their brides are twin sisters, and they were married in a ceremony conducted by twin priests with twin pageboys and twin flower girls.

According to the Daily Mail, the brothers first decided they would marry identical twin sisters when they were in high school.

After graduating college and starting their professional careers at the same company, the Varikkasserys decided it was time to settle down and search for their dream women.

So they posted an ad in the newspaper.

"Many proposals came following our ads in newspapers and matrimonial sites," Dinker said. "But there was a problem: The twins were not identical enough. Also, we had to find twins who came from the similar family backgrounds."

The Daily Mail reports that on average, one set of twins is born for every 100 babies born in India.

"The aim was to get suitable twin brides for ourselves," Dilraj said.
And then, they met Reena and Reema.
"When we met Reena and Reema, we knew it was them we were looking for all this while," Dilraj said. "Fortunately, they also had the similar feeling after meeting us."
The women, like the twin brothers, also studied at the same school, went to the same college, trained in the same profession and work at the same firm.
The two work as nurses in Dubai.
The twins were married in a ceremony held at St. Xavier's Church in Kerala, India on Sunday.

In total, there were seven sets of twins involved in the wedding, including the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

But Dilraj said it wasn't enough.

"In our twins get-together, usually there (are) around 10 to 12 sets of twins, but I could arrange only seven twins for my wedding," he said.
