A 15-year-old boy died after trying to pose for a selfie with his father's gun.
Ramandeep Singh posed Friday with his father's .32-caliber bore revolver in Pathankot, India.
The Huffington Post UK reported that Singh was posing with his sister with the revolver pointed at his head.
The deputy superintendent of police in Pathankot said the boy accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the head.
Authorities said the gun's safety was not on.
The gun was licensed to Ramandeep's father, Gurkirpal Singh.
"As per statement given by his father, Ramandeep sustained bullet injury while taking selfie with a revolver and the shot got accidentally fired," the deputy superintendent of police told The Indian Express.
Ramandeep was taken to a hospital in Ludhiana, India, but died Sunday.
According to CNN, India accounts for nearly 40 percent of the global total of selfie-related deaths.
The country has instituted "no-selfie zones" to help combat the problem.
