The eyewear, offered in several colors, not only allows users to take videos, but can also take photos now. With the click of a button, both can be uploaded directly to the social media platform.

The devices, which come with charging stations, are also “hands-free” and water-resistant and can now capture images in HD.

"We want Spectacles to be the simplest and easiest way to make memories from your point of view, and we appreciate all of your thoughtful feedback — many of these improvements were inspired by you," the brand said in a statement.

Snapchat first released Spectacles in 2017 and sold 220,000 of them. However, the corporation took a $40 million write-down after ordering excess inventory.
"Ultimately we made the wrong decision," CEO Evan Spiegel said at the time. "We're learning from it."

Now, the brand is ready to try again.

The first version of Spectacles retailed at $129, but the newer ones are about $20 higher at $150. They are available now at Spectacles.com in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and France.
