A fireball flew through the sky of the Thailand capitol, and the video and images from it is taking social media by storm.
Officials are not sure exactly what the object was before it flared and quickly died out.
One expert said is it probably an asteroid that entered the Earth's atmosphere.
Saran Poshyachinda told CNN it was probably something from outer space, and if it were a satellite, it would have been on an west-to-east path. The object traveled in the opposite direction before burning up.
"It looks like an asteroid traveling to Earth and grazing through the air, and it turned into a fireball," Poshyachinda, the deputy director of National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand, told CNN.
Another unnamed astronomer said it also could have been an burning balloon, The Bangkok Post reported.
There were also reports of space junk falling back to Earth, that was expected to enter and burn through the atmosphere around the same time as the fireball was spotted.
