Turns out, $100,000 or $60,000 pounds was resting at the end of the river bank. According to local police, honest Abe collected all the money and contacted the Lincolnshire police to help find it's rightful owner. (Via This is Lincolnshire)

Steve Hull of the Lincolnshire Police said, "It isn't every day that an amount of money like this is found and somebody must have information that will help the Police trace the lawful owner. I would be grateful to hear from people who have genuine information to pass on to me."

According to police, some of the money was damaged due to the water, but most of it can still be used. The department also says it will hold on the money until someone comes forward to claim it.

But not just anybody, police say the owner must offer proof before being allowed to walk away with the soggy cash.
