French police shot and killed a man they said tried to force his way into a police station in northern Paris on the one-year anniversary of the Charlie Hedbo attack.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was apparently armed with a knife, according to Reuters.
Interior ministry spokesman, Pierre-Henri Brandet said the man may have been wearing a suicide device and may have shouted Allahu Akbar before being shot. Brandet made the comment on French news channel BFMTV, Reuters reported.
The Associated Press is reporting the man also had wires seen coming from his clothing, and that explosives experts were on scene.
Agence France-Presse is reporting on its Twitter feed that police determined that the suicide vest was fake.
The shooting happened just after noon local time.
French President Francois Hollande had honored police officers who were killed in the line of duty minutes before the attack, The AP reported.
Gunman killed 17 people during attacks last January at the Charlie Hebdo newspaper office and a Jewish supermarket, the BBC reported.
Three police officers were killed during the attacks.
