The e-commerce site made the announcement this week, revealing that the new feature, which only applies to U.S. customers, will allow users to control the Fire TV with just their voice.

While most Fire TVs can already be controlled by voice commands, users have to push a button and use the remote in order to make a command. The new feature eliminates that step.

In order for it to work, both gadgets need to be connected to the same WiFi network. Once the connection is made, users can ask Alexa to do a variety of things. You can play a specific show, open apps and fast forward and rewind without lifting a finger.

The update went live on Tuesday, and developers expect all users to have the function by the end of the week.
