A bar in St. Albans, England, is getting praise across the Internet for allowing its patrons to feel safe.
The bar is doing it with a simple sign in the restrooms.
The sign reads:
Tinder date gone wrong? Doesn't look like his picture, or just plain weird?
If you're on a date and it's not going well, come to the bar and ask for Rachelle or Jennifer, and we'll get you out of it and/or get you a taxi. Your safety and happiness is our highest priority. If anyone is bothering you or making you feel uncomfortable, please tell us. We will discreetly move them away and, if necessary, ask them to leave. The Brickyard is safe and fun. We want you to enjoy your time here. Talk to us, and we'll sort it out.
The owner, James Hanning, told BuzzFeed News the sign was a "natural progression."
Hanning said two of his managers recently told him on separate occasions about women who asked them if their Tinder dates matched their photos.
The conversations made Hanning realize the need for something discreet to make patrons more comfortable.
The sign was initially only in the women's room, but soon expanded to the men's room and included gender-neutral pronouns, such as their instead of his or her.
The Huffington Post UK reported that restaurant staff is overwhelmed by the positive feeback from the signs.
"A sign that was designed purely for the safety of our female customers has caught the eyes of thousands (all genders), and you have all touched our hearts with your support, so thank you for this," a staff member said.
The Brickyard Twitter page has shared an image of the new sign in both restrooms Wednesday.
