A Forsyth County woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash involving two tractor-trailers in neighboring Cherokee County, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the three-vehicle wreck on Ga. 20 near County Line Road about 3 p.m., Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker said.

According to investigators, Susan Kay Chambers, 61, of Cumming, stopped her Ford Ranger in the roadway and was waiting to turn left into a driveway when she was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer. The impact of the collision pushed her pickup truck into oncoming traffic, where she was struck by a second tractor-trailer that was traveling west.

Chambers was ejected from the pickup and pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. No one else was injured in the crash and no charges have been filed.

The fatal wreck, which remains under investigation, shut down Ga. 20 for about two hours.
