Ever wondered which network has the best service in metro Atlanta? It's Verizon, according to OpenSignal's fourth quarter report.

The wireless company placed No. 1 with an average 4G download speed of 23.18 Mbps. T-Mobile earned the No. 2 spot with 22.6 Mbps, while AT&T was No. 3 at 15.7 Mbps and Sprint was No. 4 with 8.2 Mbps.

Analysts tallied the results by collecting crowdsourced data from the OpenSignal app, which continuously runs tests to measure network performance once downloaded to a smart phone. During the fourth quarter of 2016, nearly 200,000 users produced more than 2.8 million datapoints.

Along with the 4G download speed rankings, the study also calculated 4G network availability.

Verizon led the pack with users able to access 4G 87.4 percent of the time. T-Mobile came in at 84.1 percent, AT&T had 81.6 percent and Sprint had 78.1 percent.
