Police department warns public not to hide marijuana in cheeseburgers

A police department in Milton, West Virginia, is making news for a humorous notice on its Facebook page.

The Milton Police Department posted a notice to the public, letting it know that hiding marijuana in a cheeseburger is not a good idea.

"For the public's information, hiding marijuana inside a cheeseburger will not keep our K-9 from smelling it," the department said. "Naturally, the suspect's statement when the officers found the marijuana was, 'I just got that burger. They must have put it on there when I got it.'"

The department said the alleged happened during a traffic stop, adding that "Wendys.com shows that marijuana is not a standard ingredient for a Baconator."

WVAH reported that the driver was cited for possession of marijuana.
