A woman escaped an alleged kidnapping by jumping out of a trunk of a moving car, police said.

The victim told police she was walking to her apartment in Birmingham, Alabama, when a man stopped her and asked for money, AL.com reported.

He then forced her into the trunk of her Nissan Altima and took her wallet, police said.

The man drove to multiple ATMs and allegedly withdrew money before stopping at a gas station, where the victim ultimately escaped, AL.com reported.

This incident took place at a Gas Land, where owner Yosef Alsabah said he saw it all, according to AL.com.

"He was not right. There was something going on with him," Alsabah told AL.com. "He looked like he had a pistol in his pocket. I kept an eye on him."

The 25-year-old victim had minor cuts. Police said they are still looking for the man.
