If you can’t get Waffle House due to hundreds of locations closing in light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Georgia-based chain has brought something new to the
mix
for waffle fans.
On Wednesday, Waffle House began shelling out its own waffle mix for customers with a hankering for its signature menu item. The restaurant franchise announced the new at-home option Wednesday morning on Twitter with the caption:
“Keep the Waffle House experience alive in your Waffle Home.”
Within four hours, a retweet revealed they were sold out of their Waffle Mix.
The Waffle House mix is set to return to its online store soon. When it does, consumers can purchase a box of three Waffle House mix bags. Each bag makes five to six waffles. The ingredients include wheat and milk and may contain egg and soy, according to the website.
Waffle House’s new take-home waffle batter is a peace offering for those folks quarantined at home. In late March, the company, based in Norcross, Georgia, announced that more than 400 of its nearly 2,000 locations would close to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. In addition to the home waffle kits, the chain has also joined Postmates to help families order their smothered, covered or capped hashbrowns, All-Star breakfast and more to their door.
When Waffle Mix returns, it can be purchased for $20 here
