The Georgia Department of Transportation has released a visualization of the proposed improvements at the I-285/400 interchange, including new ramps and collector lanes.

The video, at a little more than a minute and a half, provides the first "look" at GDOT's plan, which "calls for adding lanes and fly-over ramps to make more capacity and more collection areas so cars aren't backed up at the bottleneck. They hope to make it safer by reducing some of the weaving some drivers now face," according to Channel 2 Action News.

Construction would begin early next year and take about three years, with an estimated cost of $1 billion, GDOT officials told Channel 2 Action News.
