A video of a failed marriage proposal at a baseball game in South Carolina went viral on social media.

The scene happened at Monday night’s Columbia Fireflies game during a break, where stadium employees can be seen dancing on the field and then a man dropping to one knee popping the question.

While the crowd watches on the big screen, the girlfriend shakes her head no and walks away. The crowd appears shocked, and people at the game started posting videos to social media.

According to WLTX, the rejected proposal was fake and the man and woman are "happily married" in Columbia.

WLTX spoke to Fireflies employees and said a staff member “decided to pull a prank” and asked the couple to help.
