Driver arrested in Decatur hit-and-run that sent pedestrian to hospital

A few days after a pickup truck was driven into a pedestrian in Decatur and fled the scene, authorities said they’ve arrested their hit-and-run suspect.
Officers arrested 34-year-old Ryan Haroldson Moore of Decatur last Thursday, which was two days after the hit-and-run landed the pedestrian in a hospital, Decatur police Sgt. John Bender said. Moore faces counts of hit-and-run, failure to yield to a pedestrian, giving false information and driving on a suspended license.
The incident took place about 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place, AJC.com previously reported. The pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time.
The truck’s driver briefly stopped to check on the pedestrian before fleeing the scene, police said. A witness said three young men were inside the truck, which was white, according to photos released by police.
The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital. The pedestrian’s condition was not provided.
“There is no additional information pertaining to this case being released at this time,” Bender said Monday.
According to DeKalb County Jail records, Moore was released a day after his arrest. His bond information was not immediately available.
