Decatur police are searching for the driver of a white Dodge pickup truck after a hit-and-run landed a pedestrian in the hospital.

About 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers found the injured pedestrian at the intersection of Commerce Drive and West Trinity Place, police said in a news release. The pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.

The truck’s driver struck the pedestrian while making a left turn from West Trinity Place onto Commerce Drive, the release said. The truck’s driver briefly stopped to check on the pedestrian before fleeing the scene, police said. A witness said three young men were inside the truck.

The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was taken to a hospital. The pedestrian’s condition was not provided.
