TUESDAY’S WEATHER-TRAFFIC: Prepare for a beautiful, sunny day

Sept 8, 2020

Tuesday is expected to be a nearly perfect day, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

It will be warm, sunny and dry with no chance of precipitation in the forecast.

“Anything you can do outside, linger a little bit,” he said. “Take those breaks from the computer screen.”

The day is off to a comfortable, relatively cool start with temperatures in the mid- and high 60s. Conditions are a little less muggy than they have been recently, with humidity at 79%.

“Because the air is going to be dry, it’s going to feel really good all the way through your Tuesday,” Monahan said.

Come afternoon, metro Atlanta will have temperatures in the mid- and upper 80s. In Atlanta, temps are expected to top out at 87 degrees.

If you’re still looking for the “catch,” the cloud cover expected later in the day might be a contender.

“We will add a couple of clouds by the afternoon,” Monahan said.

Of Tuesday’s 12.5 daylight hours, 11 will be sunny and the remainder will be cloudy, Channel 2 reported.

The morning commute is off to a good start, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. There are no trouble spots or hangups on major interstates.
