A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday and a man waiting at a nearby MARTA bus stop was seriously injured after a two-car collision in Clayton County, police said.

About 10:40 a.m., a northbound vehicle on Tara Boulevard near Flint Trail tried to make a U-turn and hit the southbound motorcycle, police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said in a news release.

The impact sent the motorcyclist into the air and the motorcycle into a nearby bus stop. Two men at the bus stop were hit, Marbury said. One of them was taken to a hospital.

The motorcyclist died on the scene. It’s not known if he was killed on impact or died shortly after.

No identities have been released, and no charges have been filed.
