Authorities are investigating a deadly tractor-trailer crash that blocked northbound lanes of I-75 in Bartow County for nearly two hours Tuesday morning.

Austin Tatum was killed in the crash, which occurred about 6:30 a.m. when the tractor-trailer hit the back of a car near Ga. 20, Bartow sheriff’s Sgt. Jonathan Rogers said.

Tatum, 24, of Acworth, died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries, Bartow coroner Joel Guyton said.

Lanes reopened just after 8 a.m., but delays remained until about 9:30 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Authorities have not released any other details about the crash, which was the second one this week in Bartow that resulted in a fatality.

A teen driver blew through a stop sign Sunday, just moments before a crash killed one of her passengers and sent multiple people to hospitals, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Five people, including the teen driver, were injured in the deadly crash, which occurred about 9:23 p.m. on Old Gilliam Springs Road and Ga. 20, officials said.

The victim in that crash was identified Tuesday as Titus Williams, 20, of Cartersville.
