A Marietta dance studio has closed indefinitely after a driver plowed into the building Monday morning.

The driver of a Ford Mustang lost control after driving on the wrong side of Wylie Road to get around a car, Marietta police told Channel 2 Action News.

The driver crashed into the wall of Divine Dance Studio, ending up inside the new office of owner Ashia Carpenter, Channel 2 reported.

She said she was not injured because she had decided to take the morning off and was not in the office at the time of the incident.

“Just to think about me being here when it happened is so scary,” she told the news station. “I definitely don’t think it was a coincidence that I decided to take the morning off.”

Carpenter told Channel 2 she believes “divine intervention” saved her from the incident. No one was injured.

The studio opened up two weeks ago and has been boarded up and has closed because it’s unclear how much damage the structure suffered, Channel 2 reported.

“It’s just a liability. There’s still stuff around. I’m not even sure about the structure. It’s slanted. So I had to cancel all of my kids’ classes,” Carpenter said.
