Gas, water line break repaired; Peachtree Street reopened

The ruptured lines aren't expected to be fixed until Saturday morning at the earliest, police said.

Previously ruptured gas and water lines have been repaired after shutting down Peachtree Street between Wall Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta police said.
The lines broke early Friday afternoon, police said in a tweet. They were repaired and the road was reopened Saturday morning, Atlanta police spokesman Jarius Daugherty told AJC.com.
UPDATE: Peachtree St. remains closed at Wall St. & MLK Jr. Dr. to all vehicle & pedestrian traffic. The ruptured gas & water lines will be fixed tomorrow morning at the earliest. The closure is impacting traffic in the area, please use alternate route. #Atlanta #ATLTraffic https://t.co/0AJrpfOpQd
