A large fire at a business in Barrow County was under control Wednesday after it shut down U.S. 29 earlier in the day, Channel 2 Action News reported.

However, officials were concerned that hot spots that still were burning could start brush fires nearby, with ongoing drought conditions and winds kicking up, Channel 2 reported.

The blaze at B&M Pallet Company involved thousands of pallets, buildings and trailers, according to Barrow County Emergency Services. B&M Pallet Company is on Broad Street in Statham.

No injuries were reported.
