Police posted shortly after 1:30 p.m. that power lines had fallen across Douglas Boulevard and I-20, shutting down the eastbound and westbound lanes.
There are power lines down across Douglas Blvd and I-20. I-20 is closed in both directions. Please avoid the area.

The closure snarled traffic as westbound motorists squeezed by in a single lane, Douglasville police Maj. J.R. Davidson told AJC.com.
It’s still unclear what caused the lines to fall, but Georgia Power crews cut power to the lines blocking the interstate. Officials reported no outages in the area and said crews will return around midnight to repair the line, Channel 2 Action News reported.
