A construction employee was injured while working on the I-285/Ga. 400 project Monday afternoon, a Georgia Department of Transportation official confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.

As a result, the ramp from Ga. 400 North to I-285 West was blocked.

GDOT spokeswoman Natalie Dale said the man, who worked for North Perimeter Contractors, was caught between a concrete barrier and a rebar “cage.”

Sandy Springs police spokesman Sam Worsham said the construction worker had injuries to his arm and leg and was transported for treatment, Worsham said.

“The injuries do not appear serious at this time,” Worsham told Channel 2.
