Officials reopened I-75 South in the area of Howell Mill Road on Tuesday after a suspicious package investigation temporarily shut the interstate down during the morning rush hour.

Atlanta police spokesman Donald Hannah said shortly before 9:30 a.m. that the Howell Mill Road exit ramp was closed.

It reopened just before 10 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Still, GDOT cameras showed heavy delays inside I-285.

Officials have not specified the contents of the suspicious package.
