Authorities have not said when the southbound lanes might reopen at Flat Shoals Road.

Heavy delays remain after a crash involving a tractor-trailer shut down all southbound lanes of I-85 in Fulton County on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at the Flat Shoals Road exit in the city of South Fulton and involved a jackknifed tractor-trailer. Both South Fulton and Union City police are on scene, according to the Union City agency.

The wreck shut down all southbound lanes for nearly two hours, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported. Traffic appears to be moving again, but there is still heavy congestion in the area.

No details about the wreck have been released, but it appears at least two passenger vehicles were also involved.

As a result of the shutdown, I-85 southbound traffic backed up to Old National Highway. Motorists looking to avoid delays are urged to take U.S. 29 into Union City, the Traffic Center reported.
