Traffic is flowing again on the Downtown Connector after authorities shut down the northbound lanes Thursday morning to investigate a death.

Atlanta police confirmed that a man was hit and killed by a vehicle north of I-20 but said no other details were immediately available. Authorities shut down the lanes about 5:30 a.m., and they reopened shortly before 7:30 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

During the shutdown, northbound traffic was being diverted off the interstate at the exit to Fulton Street and Central Avenue.

Only slight delays remain, the Traffic Center reported.
