A Fairburn man was arrested Monday after months on the run following a deadly shooting in South Fulton, police said.

Christopher Render, 38, was taken into custody without incident with the help of a U.S. Marshals Service task force in connection with the shooting Oct. 8 that killed 43-year-old Timothy Stinson.

Stinson was found injured when officers responded to a report of a person shot at the Sandtown Vista Apartments on Sand Bay Drive, according to South Fulton police. He later died from his injuries.

Render was identified as a suspect after an investigation, police spokesman Sgt. Jubal Rogers said. No other details about that investigation, including a possible motive, were released.

Render faces charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He is being held in the Fulton County Jail without bond.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
