The Easter bunny may want to stuff a poncho and a pair of galoshes in his back pocket as he hops around metro Atlanta on Sunday.
Spring showers will be on display through most of the afternoon and evening, when there’s a 70% chance for storms and scattered rain, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon.
It will be a mild and cloudy morning with temperatures of 58 degrees to start the day.
Early morning worshippers and egg hunters who hit the trail before noon should be able to escape the inclement weather. There’s just a 20% chance of rain forecast for the morning.
“Sunrise services looking pretty good,” Deon said. “We’ll see a mostly cloudy sky, maybe a few peeks of sunshine. But rain chances will stay on the lower side.”
Temperatures rise as the day progresses, but so does the probability for precipitation. The mid-afternoon high, according to Deon, will be about 72 or 73 and the chance for rain will be 40% by 4 p.m.
Storm clouds are expected to linger in the area through Sunday and into Monday.
“Rain chances will hang on through our Easter holiday weekend, right on into early next week,” Deon said. “Monday we’re trending cooler with a high of just 67 degrees. Drier weather returns with some sunshine on Tuesday.”
