The Georgia General Assembly at a glance for Tuesday, Day 39 of the 2018 legislative session:

Long days ahead: We have reached the last week of session with only two working days left. Chamber leadership is in the process of setting the final days of the legislative calendar, determining which bills have a clean shot at becoming law this year. The Senate Rules Committee selected 80 bills out of the 101 eligible for floor debate during its Monday morning meeting. As of Monday, there were 10 bills on the calendar across the hall, with the House Rules Committee set to meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to select legislation up for debate this week. Lawmakers have until midnight Thursday to pass legislation.

Paying respects to Zell Miller: After an 11 a.m. celebration of life service for former Gov. Zell Miller, his family will travel to the Capitol where Miller will lie in state at the rotunda. Expect extra security on Capitol grounds. At 11 a.m. Wednesday, the executive state funeral for Miller will take place in the Capitol rotunda.

On the record: "Our procedure here, we ask that the House member comes at least one time and asks for the bill, however, if I had a bill on here and it hadn't been chosen, I'd come every time. But we only ask that you come once."
