Skeletal remains were found in the woods near a CSX railyard Thursday in south Fulton County, according to the GBI.

The human remains were located in a wooded area by personnel working at the CSX Fairburn Ramp property, the GBI said. State agents collected the remains, located at 6700 McLarin Road in Fairburn, and turned them over to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The remains have not been identified, nor has a cause of death been determined.

Authorities did not say whether they believe foul play was involved.

The investigation remains ongoing, the GBI said. Anyone with information is asked to call the GBI Atlanta regional office at 770-388-5019. Tips can also be submitted by calling 1-800-597-8477 or online at https://gbi.georgia.gov/submit-tips-online.
