Police are investigating a shooting that killed a man inside a southwest Atlanta home.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 23-year-old Dontavious Stokes of Atlanta.

Police believe at least least one person fired shots at the home and struck Stokes.

Police responded around 2 a.m. Saturday to the call in the 1100 block of Smith St.

“We do have gunshots from the outside into the residence. We don’t know if the shooter was standing outside, in the vehicle, all that we’re trying to piece together as we speak,” Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2 Action News.
