Sandy Springs police were able to quickly identify the suspect, who is accused of shooting a gas station clerk during a robbery.

A Sandy Springs man has been arrested on charges related to a robbery and shooting at a Roswell Road gas station Tuesday night.

Gabriyel M. Ealy, 22, who is accused of shooting a gas station clerk in the course of the robbery, was taken into custody at his home Thursday, Sandy Springs police spokesman Sgt. Sal Ortega said in a news release.

Ealy is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, armed robbery, making terroristic threats and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, online jail records show. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail, where he remains without bond.

The robbery took place at a Texaco at 8340 Roswell Road around 11 p.m., Ortega said. After a customer called 911 to report the incident, Sandy Springs officers arrived and found the clerk suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers gave the clerk first aid until emergency medical services arrived, but police did not say if the employee was taken to the hospital or provide an update on their injury status.

Within a few hours, investigators were able to identify Ealy as a suspect. Sandy Springs police secured search and arrest warrants, then located and arrested Ealy at his home without incident.
