The Rolling Stones are coming to town tonight, while the Braves will once again face the San Diego Padres at Turner Field.
Regardless of which you attend, or if you skip both, traffic will likely be somewhat terrible for a time in and around downtown, starting before the evening commute.
Here's what you need to know:
• Congestion on the Downtown Connector and its arteries will begin to build by late afternoon.
• Concert parking lots will open at 5 p.m near Georgia Tech, the gates at Bobby Dodd Stadium will open at 6 p.m, and the Braves game begins at 7 p.m.
• The Stones' concert begins at 8 p.m. and should go no later than midnight; while the Braves game, extra innings notwithstanding, should be wrapped up well before 11 p.m. Night owls will be spared the rush.
• These roads will be closed for the concert: Techwood Drive, Brittain Drive, Fowler (between 5th Street and Bobby Dodd Way) and Bobby Dodd Way.
• Follow the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center for live updates on incidents, closures and construction around the city.
• For even more up to the minute updates on your phone, follow the @AJCWSBTraffic on Twitter.
