Crime Stoppers has added to an unusually large reward on information related to a 2019 South Fulton murder case in which police found a man’s body inside a burning car.

The reward is now $50,000 for information leading to an arrest related to the murder of 55-year-old Vincent Marsh, according to a Crime Stoppers Facebook post. The reward jumped from $5,000 in September to $30,000 Wednesday. Hours later, the agency added another $20,000 to bring the reward to its current total.

The increase was made possible by two separate, anonymous donations, Crime Stoppers Director Sgt. Ronald Paxson said.

According to a GoFundMe account posted by Marsh’s wife, it took more than seven months for the GBI to identify his body. Marsh is survived by his wife, Shawn Marsh, and two children, the GoFundMe post said. The fundraiser was set up to increase the Crime Stoppers reward to assist with the investigation into Marsh’s death, the summary said. As of Wednesday, it had raised close to $4,500.

Marsh’s body was found in the early morning hours of July 18 in a vehicle near the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Old National Highway, South Fulton police previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

At the time, Channel 2 Action News reported that Marsh’s body was burned so badly that he had to be identified through dental records.

Authorities towed the car from the scene after placing wrapping paper around it with the body still inside, the news station reported.

The case remains under investigation.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, and still be eligible for the $50,000 reward, by contacting Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
