Police are searching for a man suspected of stealing a car at gunpoint and threatening passersby Thursday in McDonough.

The man committed the armed carjacking in the 2000 block of Ga. 155 North, Henry County police said in a statement. In the course of hijacking the car, he threatened the driver and pointed a handgun at numerous people, including passing motorists, the statement said.

Police are seeking information from anyone who was in the area Thursday who may have witnessed or been a victim of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Harrison at 770-288-8264 or dharrison@co.henry.ga.us, or call the non-emergency police line at 770-957-9121.
