LaGrange police are searching for a man they said broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home, pulled a gun on her teen son and stole the family’s dog.

Shaquille Devontae Hughley, 26, of Roanoke, Ala., is wanted on armed robbery charges after the Tuesday incident, police said in a Facebook post.

It took place about 8 a.m. at a house off Baileys Way, the post said. Hughley is accused of kicking down the house’s rear door only to find the homeowner’s 19-year-old son.

Hughley then pulled out a gun and stole the 2-year-old pit bull, whose name is Charlie, officials said. No other information on the robbery was provided or why Hughley would allegedly want to steal a dog.

The suspect was last seen driving a 2015 silver Chrysler 200 with the Georgia tag “RRE5939,” the post said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 706-883-2621. Tipsters can also contact Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000.
