Atlanta police investigating the death of a 2-year-old toddler Wednesday morning found no signs of foul play, a police spokeswoman said.

Just after 6 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home on Brown Avenue off Jonesboro Road on a “baby not breathing” call, police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.

“The infant was sleeping with both her parents,” Jones said. “They awoke to find the child unresponsive.”

She said the child was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding, and pronounced dead just before 7 a.m.

“There were no signs of trauma or foul play to the body,” Jones said.

She said the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of the child’s death.
