August 25, 2023 Atlanta: Elephant keeper, Alexis Jones gave African Elephant, Msholo a bath on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023 at Zoo Atlanta located at 800 Cherokee Avenue SE in Atlanta. The 35-year old male came to Zoo Atlanta in 2019 from the San Diego Safari Park. He is one of three elephants all get baths twice a week during the summer along with frequent rinse downs not to mention a nearby pool available for a dip when the urge hits them. Friday's temperature felt closer to 109 thanks to high humidity, The same dangerous combination of heat and humidity is in play Saturday, when temperatures are expected to reach 99 degrees. August 9, 2023 Clayton County: One person is dead after a driver sped away from an off-duty officer in the wrong direction on I-675 South and crashed into three other vehicles Wednesday morning, Aug. 9, 2023. Clayton County police have shut down the interstate to investigate the crash, which happened around 6:30 a.m. near the Forest Parkway exit in Ellenwood.
