PHOTOS: Statue of late Congressman John Lewis unveiled in Decatur
A statue of U.S. Rep. John Lewis was unveiled on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Decatur. The 12-foot statue on a four-foot pedestal symbolized what many described as Lewis’ larger-than-life stature. The statue replaces a Confederate monument that was once outside the Historic DeKalb Courthouse for over a century.
