A Carroll County sheriff's deputy was taken to a hospital after being shot Tuesday morning, AUG. 20, 2024 according to officials. GBI agents are handling the investigation. Details are limited, but the deputy was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in “very critical condition,” spokesperson Ashley Hulsey told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution at the scene. The suspected shooter is dead, Hulsey confirmed. (John Spink/AJC)
