Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman, has been hospitalized since last week for a reported cardiac arrest.

Manafort has been serving his seven-plus-year sentence for charges related to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, according to ABC News.

Manafort has been serving his sentence at a Pennsylvania federal jail.

Manafort has been recovering since last Thursday at a Pennsylvania hospital under guard. Sources told ABC News the 70-year-old Republican strategist is stable and could be released soon from the hospital.

Manafort was found guilty of tax fraud and conspiracy earlier this year. He is slated to be released in December 2024.

On Tuesday, former Trump campaign official Rick Gates was sentenced to 45 days in jail. Gates' sentence came despite what a federal judge called his "extraordinary" cooperation with Mueller's Russia probe and other Justice Department investigations.

Gates is one of a half-dozen Trump associates charged in Mueller's investigation into ties between his presidential campaign and Russia. All six have either pleaded guilty or been found guilty at trial.

The three who have already been sentenced have all received prison time.

Two others, former Trump administration national security adviser Michael Flynn and Trump confidant Roger Stone, are awaiting sentencing.

The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on two impeachment articles against the president, who is being charged with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
